İbrahim Vurgun Kavlak

İbrahim Vurgun Kavlak received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Hacettepe University in 2002. He earned a Master’s Degree in Human Rights from Hacettepe University in 2007. Since 2005, İbrahim Vurgun Kavlak has been the Director General of Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (ASAM), which is one of the most important implementing partners of several UN organizations, international organizations and public institutions, has been operating in Türkiye since 1995, carries out projects currently in 59 field offices/centers with 3200 staff, and also has representation offices in Athens and Brussels and Ukraine. He has extensive professional work experience in the areas of migration policies, forced displacement, protection, irregular migration, disadvantaged communities, philosophy, human rights, social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, policy analyses, and conflict transformation. He has coordinated implementation of projects which aim to provide solutions to the problems of refugees and asylum-seekers in Türkiye, to support them in accessing basic rights and services, to help them meet their basic needs, and to provide protection, psychosocial support and health counseling.
