Fatih Terzi

Fatih Terzi is a faculty member in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Istanbul Technical University, focusing on sustainable development, site planning, ecological planning, and sustainable smart cities.
Terzi has enriched his academic experience through guest researcher positions at various institutions: Clemson University in 2004, University College London's Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis in 2008, and the Technology and Community Research Centre at the Technical University Berlin in 2017.
In addition to academic contributions, Terzi possesses practical urban planning and design experience. He has undertaken projects and provided consulting services to municipalities, TOKI, and the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation, specialising in strategic planning, environmental planning, development plans, and urban regeneration. His accomplishments have earned him recognition in national and international urban planning and design competitions.
Terzi played pivotal roles in significant projects, such as co-coordinating the "Turkey Spatial Strategy Plan 1st Stage (Analytical Studies and Scenarios)" in 2019 and the "Marmara Region Spatial Development Strategic Framework Document" in 2020. He also coordinated the Istanbul Fatih District Spatial Strategy Plan for 2020.
In 2022, Terzi worked as an assistant team leader and expert urban planner in the "Medium Term Development Planning and Financing in Kayseri, Muğla, Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, and Mardin" project within the World Bank's "Sustainable Cities Programme," supported by EU funds, led by İlbank, and executed by PWC. Most recently, he served as a project team leader in the "Blue Wager Program in Turkey" project, funded by the World Bank and implemented by PWC.
