Bülent Şık
Dr., Food Engineer & Secretary General, We Live Together Education and Social Research Foundation (BAYETAV)
Bülent Şık is a Food Engineer and academician. He worked in various laboratories operating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. He joined Akdeniz University as a faculty member in 2009. He led the establishment and launch of the Food Safety and Agricultural Research Center at the university.
He researches the detection of residues of various toxic chemicals in food and water, food safety, public health, and child nutrition. He currently serves as the Secretary General of the BAYETAV Foundation and is also the food consultant for BAYETAV schools. He is the author of three books: The Chemist in the Kitchen, Rivers and Children, Stories That Connect Us to the Earth, and Children and Food Safety.
