Müge Yorgancı Ozar
Urban Policy Expert, Play the City
Müge graduated with honours from the Urban Planning Department of Yıldız Technical University in 2008, where she completed a double major in art management. She obtained her master's degree in urban design at the same university with a thesis titled "The Meaning of Green Settlement Criteria in Urban Transformation Practices within the Framework of Sustainable Development". During her master's degree, she served as a TÜBİTAK-1001 Project Assistant. Currently, Müge is in the Ph.D. thesis phase in Urbanism at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Her academic research interests revolve around urban policy, participation, and spatial justice. Since 2009, Müge has been working with Play the City, contributing to various projects related to urban policies and participatory methods in decision-making processes. She is a founding member of the Bicycle Transportation Development Association (BUGEP) and a member of BisiKOOP. Between 2014 and 2020, Müge worked as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University, where she conducted the Urban Design Studio. She worked with the Western Black Sea Development Agency on industrial heritage areas between 2017 and 2019. Müge also took part in the Western Black Sea Tourism Master Plan studies as coordinator. Müge worked on project development and participation processes at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality BİMTAŞ. She currently works as an urban policy expert at the Vision 2050 Office within the Istanbul Planning Agency. She works on policies on participatory democracy, social participation, and disaster management.
